BaseballSportFlashback is broadening its horizons and is taking up new sports where the technologies of graphic presentations can be applied. Now that a number of sports like soccer, rugby, cricket, American football etc make up a great experience of the company, SportFlashback has come to tackle baseball. Like any other sport it has its own characteristic features that make it unique as a sporting activity and from the technical and presentation points of view. It includes a great variety of possible player movements, a lot of unpredictable successions of events, a few actions taking place at different parts of the field at the same time etc. It all makes the task of 3D visualisation quite challenging and interesting. SportFlashback team has produced a demo version of 3D scenes reconstructing most common baseball plays. The scenes can be viewed from various cameras – home plate, pitcher’s mound, bases, top view that cover all of the baseball diamond. The user can control the cameras to change angles and view the scenes with players’ eyes. To present and promote the new initiative SFB produced a demo 3D video. |
